. Cart, Formula 1, IRL and NASCAR  in addition to all
motor sports did not permit  liquor sponsorship for almost twenty

to win the President's Cup that year.
Jerry Schoenith drove many Gale Racing unlimites
(6).He also  acted as a test driver. For example, the
1968 Gale's Roostertail was the first unlimited to have  
a pickle fork. The bow was cut away about  two feet.

Jerry Schoenith established the first unlimited automotive class in the 100 year history
of the
American Power Boat Association. As executive directer for the
Automotive Thunderboat Association he helped build a number of automotive

In 1968 Jerry hung up his
uniform for good when he
won, in front of 500,000
hometown fans, the Horace
E. Dodge Trophy  Race.

Going into the Roostertail turn at 140 mph Jerry's twin-engine 6000 hp, 36 feet U-44 unlimited
rolled right throwing him out of the cockpit. Then near death, the 13,000 lb monster rolled left
and pinned him against the cowling. With no movement from Jerry the Roostertail restaurants’
patrons  were horrified. When Jerry signal OK, the crowd cheered.   
In 1968, the Gale's Roostertail race team, along with DuPont, In
1968, the Gale's Roostertail race team, along with DuPont, Foil
signage. The U-44 design became one of the world’s most spectacular
paint themes in all of motor sports. Hundreds of thousand of fan
