Nearly ninety powerboats will participate
during this first of its kind two-day special
event regatta. The DRRC will highlight the
past 100 years of powerboat racing on the
Detroit River while commemorating the
American Power Boat Association 100th
anniversary celebration.

The Detroit River-River Cruise will also
include: Antique & Classic Boat Show (in
the water), a Marine Mart, Automotive-Marine
Division Expo, and Extreme Water Sports
show, as well as an international food court
and concert entertainment. The Dodge Pits,
Waterworks Park, and Waterworks Annex will
be the location for all boat launching and on
the land activities
The best way to describe the Detroit River Cruise, is
the
Woodword Dream Cruse on water. It featured the
largest display ever on the Detroit River of  Chris
Crafts, Hacker Crafts,  Gar Woods run-a-bouts, and
'50s's and '60's unlimited hydroplanes. Add to all of
that, the river's
biggest in the water antique and classic
boat show along with a Marine Mart. On the race
course  was an
APBA sanctioned 13 field (175mph)
Unlimited Lights boat race
besides an  Extreme Water
Jet Ski Thrill Show.

50cent appeared at the Roostertail.
The DRC took place on the world's most beautiful aqua
theater, the
Detroit Gold Cup race course.
